Betfair Online Casino NJ bonus offers – March 2021

Betfair’s promotion for new players is a $200 Risk-Free Day! On the very same day that a new player makes their first real-money wager, the site will refund 100% of any losses they incur.

How does the Betfair bonus work?

Essentially, this offer is a cashback promotion. The site agrees to insure $200 of the player’s losses on the first day that they begin playing.

The “timer” on the promotion begins when they make their first bet and ends 24 hours later. Please note that these are net losses, so if you turn a profit during that time period, you will receive nothing.

This promotion is only available for new players to Betfair. Please do not attempt to redeem this offer if you have already played on Betfair in New Jersey.

Betfair NJ Casino promotions

Standing promotions

Additionally, Betfair NJ has a constantly-changing selection of other promotions including bonus chases, leaderboards, and sweepstakes.

Refer a friend

As a Betfair Casino player, you can earn Betfair Casino credit for inviting your friends and family.

  1. Enter the email addresses of those you’d want to invite ($10 credit for them once they sign up).
  2. Once they sign up and make their first deposit of $25 or more, you’ll earn $25.

Betfair Casino VIP club program

  • Earn tier and bonus points by wagering on real-money games at BetfairCasino.com.
  • Depending on your loyalty tier, earn a bonus equal to between 0.1-0.5% of all slot wagers; though less on other games.

The ease of maintaining your monthly status is a nice touch.

  • Maintaining a status only tasks you with generating half the number of points necessary to earn that status initially.
  • Should you not accumulate enough points to maintain your status, you only fall back one status grade at the beginning of the next month. This depends if your account was inactive for more than 31 days.

Betfair Casino VIP tier points

Betfair’s revamped VIP Club rewards consistent play as much as it does players wagering large sums. Tier points are accrued by placing real-money bets on casino games.

For every $1 wagered, you will receive:

  • Slots: 5 tier points
  • Roulette, video poker and table games: 3 tier points
  • Blackjack: 1 tier point

Accumulated tier points determine a player’s monthly VIP status. As you climb the ranks, you become eligible for better bonuses and exclusive VIP perks. These perks include VIP events, gifts, and a dedicated casino host.

There are currently five VIP statuses, as follows:

  • Iron: Everyone starts here with 0.1% cashback on slots.
  • Bronze: 25,000 monthly points, 12,500 points to maintain.
  • Silver: 200,000 monthly points, 100,000 points to maintain.
  • Gold: 500,000 monthly points, 250,000 points to maintain.
  • Platinum: 2.5 million points, 1.25 million points to maintain.

Betfair Casino VIP bonus points

Bonus points, which earn at the same rate as tier points, can be exchanged for bonus cash. The higher your tier, the better your exchange rate:

  • Iron: 5,000 bonus points / $1
  • Bronze: 4,000 bonus points / $1
  • Silver: 3,000 bonus points / $1
  • Gold: 2,000 bonus points / $1
  • Platinum: 1,000 bonus points / $1

Unfortunately, bonuses received from exchanging bonus points are only eligible for casino play and can never be withdrawn. This means Betfair does not currently offer any predictable cash back.

Betfair Casino software

The combination of Betfair’s veteran leadership, experience developing proprietary platforms and third-party partnerships with online gaming solutions providers, such as IGT, has resulted in a product that is as responsive and lightweight as it is intuitive.

Betfair’s New Jersey software is available for most computers and mobile devices:

  • Browser-based: To experience everything Betfair NJ has to offer, log-on from a home computer The online casino runs smoothly on nearly all popular browsers, including Safari for Mac.
  • Mobile: A smattering of Betfair’s most popular games are available via both Android and iOS applications. The Apple version requires iOS version 6.1 or later. Most Android users utilizing Android 2.1 or higher should have little trouble with the mobile app.

Betfair mobile NJ casino app

Betfair’s online casino app was developed by seasoned programmers versed in optimizing web applications for mobile.

All of the primary (and most of the advanced) bells and whistles present on the desktop software are accessible via the Betfair online casino app. This includes cashiering functionality, account histories, responsible gaming functions and promotional information.

Also, the app makes navigation simple. Even the most remote reaches of the application are only a few touches away although some of the team’s design choices come across as visually disorienting.

As for the casino games, loading times are minimal and games run smoothly. You can readily access information related to payout structures and game rules via the game options menu. We wish there were more of them. At present, only about 30 of the 170 games available on the desktop are on mobile.

A couple of other minor annoyances:

  • On a couple of occasions, the game would reload abruptly, sometimes mid-spin.
  • It requires re-entering login credentials every time you exit and enter the application. In all fairness, this may be a safeguard and not an application flaw.

Betfair’s NJ online casino app is available for both Android and iOS-powered devices. You can see how the app compares to other NJ online casino mobile apps.

Casino game selection at Betfair Casino NJ

BetfairCasino.com offers one of the strongest game libraries in New Jersey. At present, you have a choice of 149 virtual slot terminals. There is also 12 Atlantic City-style table games and eight video poker variants.

That brings the total number of available games up to 170, a number that seems to be growing by the month.

BetfairCasino.com also boasts the most extensive collection of site-exclusive games in the US regulated market. This includes two rarely seen before table games (Hi-Lo Solitare and PokerBet) and a swatch of bonus-driven NJ online slots.

Slots

Like other NJ-based online casinos, all of Betfair Casino’s slots are penny, multiple-line slots with the vast majority offering some bonus game.

Slot titles run the gamut from those available at AC casino floors. You’ll have the opportunity to play Wheel of Fortune, Super Times Pay and DoubleDiamond, as well as popular online slots like Starburst.

The online casino boasts 149 slots in total, with new terminals added on a somewhat regular basis.

Exclusive slots

There are 37 exclusive slots in total, which include:

  • 50 Lions
  • African Diamond
  • Crazy Money
  • King of Bling
  • Neon City Casino
  • Robin Hood
  • Total Meltdown
  • Grand Dragon
  • Guys Night
  • Lunar Loot
  • China Shores
  • Neon City Casino

Blackjack

There are two blackjack games: single-hand and five-hand variants.

The five hand is called Pro Blackjack. Any number of hands between one and five may be played against the dealer.

The single-hand game is simply titled blackjack (and is powered by IGT).

Both games offer favorable rules, including 3:2 payouts on blackjack, re-splits, double down after splits, and dealer stands on soft 17.

Other table games

There are 13 table games spread at Betfair. At one point there used to be more, but some, such as Mississippi Stud, Ultimate Texas Hold ’em and Four Card Poker, have vanished from the lobby.

Most noteworthy, Let It Ride is still around despite one player hitting a $1.52 million jackpot in February 2015.

So, what was once the most eclectic blend of table games in the NJ online casino industry is now merely average.

There are two games exclusive to Betfair in New Jersey: Hi/Lo Solitaire and Poker Bet.

Other Betfair New Jersey table games include:

  • Roulette Royale
  • 3 Card Poker
  • Let it Ride
  • Craps
  • 3 Wheel Roulette
  • Double Bonus Spin Roulette
  • EZ Baccarat

SITE EXCLUSIVE TABLE GAMES

  • Poker Bet
  • Hi-Lo Solitaire

Betfair Casino NJ also has live dealer roulette and live dealer baccarat, plus a slew of other live dealer games.

Video poker

Betfair offers eight video poker games:

  • Two are Jacks or Better with different animation
  • Deuces Wild
  • Bonus Poker
  • Double Bonus Poker
  • Double Double Bonus Poker
  • Triple Play Draw Poker
  • Five Play Draw Poker

Triple Play video poker game deals a player a single hand. The player chooses which cards to hold. Those cards are kept in all three hands.

Five Play functions similarly, except the number of hands increases to five.

It’s worth noting that all single-line Game King video poker games return approximately 99% or more to the player.

The best of these games is Jacks or Better, which returns 99.54%. The worst, the highly volatile yet exceedingly popular Double Double Bonus Poker, returns 98.98%.

Triple and Five Play games feature reduced payout tables, but more gaming options.

The single line Deuces Wild game, provided by GAN, is known as “15/9” LV Airport/Illinois Deuces and pays out 98.91%. It doesn’t play as smoothly as the Game King games, but the payout table is among New Jersey’s best.

Virtual sports

Virtual sports at Betfair online casino NJ is a combination of video games, sports betting and slot machines.

They are more or less 3D, sports-themed video games with realistic graphics and an endless supply of content, and you can wager on that content.

Unlike esports or skill-based games, virtual sports contests are played with the outcomes based on the combination of historical data and a random number generator that is capable of creating an infinite amount of potential scenarios.

Here are the virtual sports games that are currently available at Betfair Casino NJ:

  • Horse racing
  • Dog racing
  • Motorcycle racing
  • Car racing
  • Soccer

Banking at Betfair Casino

Betfair offers several depositing options, such as wire transfers and a prepaid card option, that some NJ regulated online casinos do not.

This makes playing on Betfair an attractive alternative for those who may have had issues depositing via more traditional means on other sites. The following deposit methods, which all have a minimum requirement of $10, are offered:

Deposit options

  • Credit or debit card (Mastercard or Visa)
  • ACH/eChecks (recommended by Betfair Casino)
  • Betfair prepaid card (can be funded with credit or debit card, or via ACH)
  • Cash at 7-Eleven (PayNearMe)
  • Wire transfer (fees reimbursed on all transfers more than $100)
  • Casino cage

Withdrawal options

  • ACH
  • Check by mail
  • Golden Nugget cashier
  • Betfair prepaid card

Customer support

Betfair Casino NJ seems to provide reliable customer service through a convenient live chat feature, as well as by email ([email protected]) and phone (877-689-0662).

What’s great about Betfair Casino?

Betfair online casino has emerged as a player in the heavily competitive NJ market, due to its varied selection of game offerings, generous promotional offers and strong casino platform. Betfair has managed to hold its own against more identifiable brands such as Caesars, Tropicana and bwin.party.

What’s not so great about Betfair Casino?

  • Betfair’s New Jersey-based online poker room closed in December 2014.
  • The promotion schedule heavily favors high-stakes players.
  • Its rewards program has steep play requirements.

More on Betfair Casino

Betfair Casino (www.BetfairCasino.com) is one of two NJ regulated real-money online gaming sites tied to the Golden Nugget license. Its operator, Betfair, is no stranger to the iGaming landscape. They established the world’s largest betting exchange in the European Union long before bringing online casino games to New Jersey.

The first Betfair venture in the US was horse racing through its purchase of TVG. Through that alliance, it became the preferred New Jersey provider for horse racing through 4NJBets.

Then, when online gambling was approved in New Jersey in 2013, Betfair partnered with Trump Plaza for its interactive license. After Trump Plaza ceased operations in September 2014, Betfair entered into a temporary partnership with Caesars Interactive.

The operator eventually found a permanent home with Golden Nugget.

Betfair online casino updates — 2021

After parent company Paddy Power Betfair bought FanDuel in 2018, the platforms have melded their offerings in New Jersey.

For those who have an account with Betfair online casino can now share a wallet and log in access with FanDuel Sportsbook. Similarly, those with a FanDuel Sportsbook account can use those same credentials to play casino games at Betfair.

New games at Betfair Casino NJ

  • Gong Xi Fa Cai: This Chinese-themed game features five reels, 50 paylines, and two exciting bonus rounds. The pick ’em bonus gives you a chance to win the jackpot, while the free spins bonus awards you with free games with a bonus multiplier.
  • Golden Mane: Feel the wind in your face as you line up your pockets while riding the Golden Mane. Hitting a combination of five wilds awards you 1,500x jackpot, while nailing enough scatter symbols allows you to win up to six free games.
  • Fiesta Cubana: This adrenaline-pumping slot will allow you to bring back the summer heat with a rumba beat. With 243 paylines, wilds, scatter symbols and free spins, every game is exciting regardless of the size of your bet.
  • Charms and Witches: This spooky five-reel slot features 25 paylines, wilds, scatter symbols, and a free spins bonus round. If you like bats, shape-shifters, crows and charming blonde witches, you owe it to yourself to give it a spin.
  • Buccaneers Bay: Life of plunder on the sea doesn’t sound half bad when you can win 20 free spins with a 3x multiplier every time you make a bet. As you’d expect from a 2016 game, the visuals and sound effects are top-notch.
  • Glorious Empire: Two-way pays, five reels and 40 paylines make this 2016 NextGen slot a joy to play. If you enjoy Ancient Rome-themed games with some fantasy elements, you should give it a try.
  • Miss Midas: Miss Midas is an unorthodox five reel, 25 payline video slot that distinguishes itself from the crowd due to its “SuperBet” feature, which increases the number of wild symbols on the reels as long as you go for the highest betting level.
  • Gypsy Moon: This is a classic, five-reel slot from IGT with a fortune-telling theme. The 243 paylines, scatter symbols and wilds allow you to line up plenty of surprising winning combinations. And if that wasn’t enough, Gypsy Moon also comes with a bonus round and a cool gamble feature.
  • Emoji Planet: This is an unorthodox six-reel slot with no traditional paylines. The symbols can chain together in unexpected combinations. Emoji Planet came out in 2017, so unsurprisingly the visuals and sound effects are very crisp.
  • The Legend of Shangri La – Cluster Pays: An instant classic from NetEnt that’s already has a huge following, despite being released as recently as September 2017. The clustering mechanism, nudge reels, phenomenal graphics and unparalleled Asian-themed sound effects make for exceptional game-play. Wilds, scatters and free spins are also available.
  • Legend of the Pharaoh: This is quite an exciting slot from SG Gaming, with a backdrop and overall look that closely resembles that of the popular Cleopatra slot. You can win lots of free spins with bet multipliers by landing a blue pyramid symbol that acts as the scatter. Comes with an excellent 98.10% RTP, making it ideal for clearing casino bonuses.
  • Zeus God of Thunder: This ancient Greek-themed slot offers five jackpots, 30 paylines and up to 100 free spins when using the “extra bet” option. Included are classic mythological creatures and artifacts. The best part about this game is the five jackpots, the largest of which currently pays out $3,000.
  • The classic Cleopatra finally made it to Betfair’s slot selection. Designed and developed by IGT, the game incorporates multiple elements of Egyptian culture. The following symbols form winning combinations on Cleopatra’s 25 paylines: The eye of hours, gold pendant, beetle, the Sphinx and, of course, Cleopatra herself. The Sphinx is the scatter symbol; landing it on three or more reels will trigger a bonus round with 15 free spins, all of which are played out automatically in succession. The Cleopatra symbol is wild and doubles the payout from any combination it completes. This slot has decent graphics, good sound effects, and excellent gameplay.
  • Based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s character, Dr. Jekyll Goes Wild is a horror-themed slot game offering up to 75 free spins and two bonus rounds. A total of 10 paylines are available.
  • Monopoly Bring The House Down brings the board game experience straight to the online casino. The hot zone wild patterns spin independently of the reels and will turn any location they land on wild. Landing three Monopoly symbols on reel Nos. 1, 3 and 5 will trigger a bonus free spins round. Five linked reel spins can be made with the “big bet” option, providing a chance for hotel upgrades and extra spins. Monopoly features 40 paylines.

How To Place A Bet In New Jersey

Choosing A Sportsbook

The full list of New Jersey’s online sportsbooks, displayed above, regularly updates here on Gaming Today. The welcome bonuses differ at each platform, so be sure to check back on this page for the latest information.

New Jersey hosts the largest selection of sportsbook apps of any US state, with more than 20 different options.

Make Your First Deposit

Once you’ve evaluated the welcome bonuses and chosen a sportsbook, you can use several different methods to fund your new account.

PayPal, ACH/eCheck, credit/debit cards, and Play+ represent some of the best and fastest ways to make a deposit. Once approved, these methods put the money in your player balance immediately.

How To Verify Your Location

New Jersey’s online sportsbooks use geolocation technology to determine your location whenever you try to make a bet.

State law mandates that only wagers coming from within New Jersey borders qualify as legal bets. If the geolocation service determines that you’re outside of New Jersey, you won’t be able to bet.

Registering A New Account

Signing up for a new account at an online sportsbook takes just a couple of minutes. You’ll need a valid email address, as well as proof of age and identity.

A driver’s license or state-issued ID generally suffices to fulfill these requirements. Once the sportsbook verifies your documents, you’re free to deposit and start making bets.

Making Bets At An Online Sportsbook

Online sportsbooks generally display available bets in a user-friendly fashion, requiring players to simply click on whatever line they’d like to bet.

Once you’ve selected a bet, the terms of the wager will appear on a bet slip, usually at the right of the screen. Once it’s there, confirm the bet and send it to the sportsbook.

Why Choose A Legal Sportsbook?

New Jersey’s state-regulated sportsbooks put world-class, legal online sports betting at your fingertips. The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) regulates all online gambling products in the state.

Under the oversight of the DGE, legal sportsbooks operate with an obligation to provide security of player funds and personal information, as well as prompt and fair payouts.

Offshore sites guarantee none of these things, nor do they have to. These platforms operate outside of the jurisdiction of federal law.

Players are responsible for paying applicable state and federal taxes on sports betting winnings. New Jersey’s mobile sportsbooks automatically withhold federal taxes on winnings of $5,000 or more.

New Jersey Sports Betting Revenue

New Jersey started 2020 as the top revenue-earning sports betting state in the US. The Garden State maintained that status throughout the year, topping all states in betting handle in every month of 2020.

The overall betting handle came in at over $6 billion in New Jersey in 2020. The state took in $398.5 million in sports betting revenue for the year.

Just under $360 million of that revenue figure came from mobile betting. That number amounts to 90% of sports betting revenue coming from online sportsbooks in New Jersey.

New Jersey Versus Other Sports Betting States

New Jersey sets the bar for sports betting in the US, leading the boom in mobile wagering. Pennsylvania stands as the closest neighboring state with a market comparable to New Jersey. New York offers retail sports betting but has yet to launch online sports betting in the state.

The Keystone State launched sports betting in May 2019. Both retail and online sports betting are legal under Pennsylvania law.

Most of the state’s 13 land-based casinos offer retail sports betting. Mobile wagering dominates the Pennsylvania market, however, with 90% of the overall betting handle coming from online sportsbooks.

Pennsylvania plays home to 10 different online sports betting platforms. November 2020 saw the state’s online sportsbooks produce $31.18 million in revenue, a new monthly high for the state.

New Jersey Sports Betting Successes And Failures

New Jersey Sports Betting Successes

The list of ways to define New Jersey’s success in online sports betting is incredibly long. The Garden State provides the model that all other states aspire to copy for their mobile sports betting industries.

The state produced just under $400 million in sports betting revenue in 2020. Just under $360 million of that revenue came from online sportsbooks.

Competition proves lucrative for New Jersey’s online sports betting market. State laws allow for land-based casinos to license multiple brands per operator.

The result of that model sees more than 20 different online sportsbooks competing for market share. FanDuel and DraftKings dominate in the state, but New Jersey sits as the land of opportunity for other sports betting brands as well.

New Jersey Sports Betting Failures

It’s tough to find anything that counts as a “failure” for New Jersey’s sports betting industry. However, the state’s run as the No. 1 US sports betting market could get some competition if New York moves forward with online sports betting.

At least some of New Jersey’s industry-leading revenue numbers come from New York bettors taking the short trip to the Garden State to place legal online bets.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo recently reversed his longtime stance against online sports betting and now wants to bring it to New York. Legal mobile betting in New York could affect New Jersey’s bottom line significantly.

New Jersey’s Sports Betting Legalization Effort

New Jersey stands at the forefront of the push to legalize online gambling in the US. The state gave the green light to online casinos and poker in 2013.

The fall of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) paved the way for the modern US sports betting boom. PASPA went into effect in 1993,outlawing sports betting in all but four states.

Nevada, Montana, Delaware, and Oregon were exempt from PASPA, but other states weren’t permitted to offer sports betting under the language of the act. That changed with the US Supreme Court declaring PASPA unconstitutional in May 2018.

New Jersey already had the pieces in place for a sports betting launch, anticipating the overturning of PASPA. The state legalized both retail and online sports betting just one month after the PASPA ruling.

The state’s retail sportsbook opened days later, and the first of New Jersey’s online sports betting platforms launched in July 2018.

When launched, the New Jersey Department of the Treasury aimed to hit a $25 million goal in overall tax revenue for fiscal year 2019. By comparison, online and retail sports betting doubled that goal in the 2020 calendar year, producing more than $50 million in revenue.

New Jersey Professional Sports Teams

New Jersey Devils

The New Jersey Devils aren’t the only professional sports team that plays in the Garden State, but it is the only franchise officially calling itself a “New Jersey” team.

Nugget

Founded in 1974, the Devils enjoy a loyal fanbase and play at the Prudential Center in Newark. New Jersey hockey fans have seen the Devils win three Stanley Cups, five conference championships, and nine division titles over a nearly 50-year history.

Those accolades don’t include the seasons from 1974-1982, in which the franchise wasn’t quite yet “New Jersey” or the “Devils.” The team’s roots go back to 1974 when the organization was founded as the Kansas City Scouts.

After a move to Denver in 1976, the franchise found its permanent home in New Jersey in 1982. The Devils form a natural rivalry with the New York Rangers, colloquially known as the “Battle of the Hudson River.”

The Devils’ last Stanley Cup Finals appearance came in the 2011-2012 season. The next time New Jersey makes a playoff run, state sportsbooks will offer wagering on all rounds of the playoffs.

New York Sports Franchises

Both the New York Giants and New York Jets play at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Both franchises still identify as “New York” football teams, but both claim large fanbases in New Jersey.

The NBA’s Brooklyn Nets played in New Jersey from 1977-2012. The formerly-known New Jersey Nets’ move to Brooklyn doesn’t diminish the team’s following in its previous home of New Jersey, however.

Other New York sports franchises, like the Yankees and Mets, hold large fanbases in New Jersey.

Restrictions On College Sports Betting In New Jersey

New Jersey laws don’t allow for betting on in-state college programs in any way. As such, you won’t find New Jersey-based programs like the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Seton Hall Pirates, or Princeton Tigers on the betting boards at New Jersey’s retail or online sportsbooks.

Plenty of other local college programs still offer betting opportunities, however.

Villanova Wildcats

Just over the New Jersey border lies Philadelphia, a city with one of the nation’s richest college basketball traditions. The Villanova Wildcats represent one of the Philadelphia Big Five, a group of hallowed Philadelphia-based men’s college basketball programs.

Villanova won a pair of National Championships in the 2010s, coming in 2016 and 2018. The Wildcats clinched NCAA Tournament berths in 14 of the past 15 years (excluding the canceled 2020 tournament).

March Madness is open for betting at New Jersey sportsbooks, even if in-state programs are in the field. Villanova’s next Final Four run will offer numerous ways to bet at New Jersey online sportsbooks.

St. John’s Red Storm

Like Villanova, the St. John’s University men’s basketball program plays in the Big East Conference. Located in Queens, New York, the Red Storm claim two Final Four appearances, three conference titles, and 30 NCAA Tournament appearances.

The Red Storm ended the 2019-2020 season as the ninth-winningest men’s basketball program in NCAA history. St John’s last March Madness appearance came in 2019.

Other Sports To Bet On In New Jersey

Aside from the four major sports leagues, just about every other sport imaginable is open for wagering at New Jersey’s online sportsbooks.

MMA, NASCAR, golf, tennis, soccer, and more await on the betting menus of New Jersey’s sports betting platform. This includes NASCAR events held at New Jersey Motorsports Park.

All other sporting events taking place within New Jersey are open for betting, with the exception of college sports contests. College games held in New Jersey aren’t eligible for legal wagering, whether they involve New Jersey-based programs or not.
